Conquer Chaos Program
Washington Center for Psychiatry is proud to announce the 6 year anniversary of Conquer Chaos, the center’s individualized program designed to promote skills to greatly improve personal organization, increase efficiency, and learn to maneuver through dynamic logistical, psychological, and unknown challenges of life.
Since its inception in 2002, a diverse population – from high school students to CEO’s to lawyers – have benefited from simple yet effective methods learned in Conquer Chaos. The program is helpful for anyone who experiences difficulties with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorders (ADHD), hoarding, poor memory and/or concentration, learning disabilities, chronic lateness, low motivation, poor time management, clutter, inability to complete tasks, procrastination and feelings of being overwhelmed.
What to Expect
The first session consists of screening for Attention Deficit Disorder(s), and a thorough assessment of organizational habits, behavioral patterns, and cognitive function (ie, memory, concentration, abstract thinking).
During the second session individually tailored recommendations are provided and discussed including results of the ADD/ADHD screening and any other diagnostic tests performed. The recommendations include an identification of the top 2 problems areas and defining strategy to improve them. In addition, the Three Golden Rules of personal efficiency are presented and explored.
The Third session consists of a further exploration of effective solutions to increase personal efficiency, review of progress and refinement of strategies and techniques as needed.
The Fourth session is a review of progress and tackles “how to stop failing to do what I know needs to be done“.
A minimum of 6 sessions is recommended – most Conquer Chaos participants attend approximately 6-8 sessions. There are also many who continue attending sessions on a routine basis to maintain and fine tune their skills.
